COLORWAY
This colorway was inspired by a painting of Lois Mailou Jones called Les Vendeuses de Tissue. I left the title in the original French, but it simply means the fabric sellers. Jones was an amazing artist who painted from early childhood until she was in her 90s. She moved to Paris in the 1930s and later married a Haitian artist. She spent many years living in Haiti and painting scenes of everyday life there like this one.
This was my club colorway back in March 2021, and I absolutely adore the vibrant colors!
YARN BASE
I dyed this colorway on Stained Glass Sock, which is a soft and squishy 2-ply yarn made of 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon. The thing that makes Stained Glass Sock uniquely wonderful is that one ply is made of white wool while the other alternates between black and white, so when I dye the yarn, it looks like leaded stained glass. Each 100 gram skein has 400 yards.

This colorway would look great with Burgundy Rose, Monarch Butterfly, Sunflower, Matcha Latte, Renaissance Blue, and Freedom Blue.
YARN SWATCH
I included a swatch I knit on Squoosh Worsted to give you an idea of how this can work up. Keep in mind that that yarn base does not have the black ply this one has.
