The inspiration for this colorway came from the beautiful purple irises in our next-door-neighbor's yard. Almost half the skein is dyed a deep rich eggplant. The other colors are soft lavender, daffodil yellow, and spring green. I then lightly speckled over the lighter colors with lilac and red and green.
I dyed it on Sock Perfection, which is perfect for everything from socks to shawls to sweaters and beyond. It's made of extra-soft superwash merino and nylon.
I included a photo of what Purple Iris looks like knit up, but I knit it on Sparkly Merino Sock.
Purple Iris on Sock Perfection
450 yards / 3.5 oz / 4 plies
80% extra-soft superwash merino / 20% nylon
Care: Machine or hand wash cold and air dry.
I included a small swatch I knit up using this colorway on Sparkly Merino Sock. It should give you an idea of how the colorway will work up, but keep in mind that how it looks will vary a lot depending on the pattern, the yarn base, and even the individual skein.
MY GIFT TO YOU
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
