Eowyn's Mantle was inspired by Eowyn, the shield-maiden in The Lord of the Rings. The mantle was given to her for her wedding by her betrothed and is described as "a great blue mantle of the colour of deep summer-night, and it was set with silver stars about hem and throat." (The Return of the King)
I used deep blue merino for these art batts and added white organic Polwarth, extra soft white merino, white mulberry silk, silver alpaca, and soft gold muga silk. These are wonderfully soft and springy and would be wonderful for both spinning and felting.
