DAY AT THE BEACH Hand-Dyed Silk Satin Scarf - 11 x 60 inches

Imagine that you just arrived at the beach. You walk through the tall green grasses toward the sand. You reach the sand and see the blues and greens of the ocean with white waves cresting in the distance. It's a quiet day with just a few other people enjoying the ocean breezes. The ocean meets the sky, which is lighter blue with soft fluffy clouds wandering lazily by. You find the perfect spot to put up your bright yellow beach umbrella and set up your salmon-colored chair. You gaze happily at the ocean and prepare for a relaxing day at the beach.

That was the inspiration behind my Day at the Beach colorway. 

Each scarf is unique--even more so than hand-dyed yarn.

These scarves are made of mulberry silk woven in the satin weave. It's shinier on the front than the back and has a soft almost velvety feel. This fabric is a bit thicker than habotai silk and a little less prone to wrinkling. 

They measure 11 inches wide and 60 inches in length and can be worn in so many different ways. There are lots of great videos on youtube on different ways to style these.

They are also great to travel with too since they fold up to almost nothing and weight less than an ounce, and they make wonderful, unique gifts. 

I recommend hand washing in cold water and hanging to dry. If you like it smooth and crisp, you can use an iron with a cloth or a steamer to smooth out any wrinkles.
