Caribbean Sunset was inspired by the idea of a sunset over the ocean. I dyed it as a gradient.
About one third of the skein is dyed in shades of blue and green to represent the water. The opposite third is dyed in all the colors of the sunset--orange and gold and lilac and purple and fuchsia. The middle section represents the reflection of the sunset on the water and has deeper purples and blues.
Each of the three sections has multiple colors in it with some overlapping between them, so this is both a Splashed and Speckled colorway and a block variegated colorway.
I dyed it on an Shetland Wool, which is a great option for a new spinner or anyone wanting some good sturdy wool. The micron count for the Shetland wool is right around 30 microns. Some people are happy having this next to their skin, but I think it's better for outerwear.
