OCEAN AT NIGHT Hand-Dyed Yarn on Stained Glass Sock

Imagine looking out at the ocean on a star-filled night from a sailing ship. You see the silver moon just above the horizon, and in its reflection on the water are varying shades of dark blue and deepest purple.

I dyed Ocean at Night on Stained Glass Sock, which is a soft and squishy 2-ply yarn made of 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon. The thing that makes Stained Glass Sock uniquely wonderful is that one ply is made of white wool while the other alternates between black and white, so when I dye the yarn, it looks like leaded stained glass. Each 100 gram skein has 400 yards.
