I had my friend Natalie knit up the shawl, and it is absolutely gorgeous! The Float Shawl calls for 3 skeins of fingering-weight yarn.
The yarn has all the blues and greens that form the background of Starry Night for three-quarters of the skein, and the remaining one-quarter is the beautiful golden yellow of the sun and stars in the painting.
I used my Sparkly Merino Sock base, which is made of 92% superwash merino and 8% sparkly lurex. It's a lovely base for shawls and cowls and hats.

YARN PAIRINGS
Starry Night would look great with Sunflower, Annunciation Blue, and Freedom Blue.
I recently discovered Dawn Barker's amazing Assigned Pooling patterns, and I kept thinking how perfect it would be to combine her pattern with Van Gogh's Starry Night, so I took my original Starry Night colorway and changed the placement of the colors to work for her Float Shawl.
