EGYPTIAN BLUE MINI SKEIN on Splendid Sock

Regular price $7.00

Quantity Available: 2

This is Egyptian Blue dyed as a 20 gram mini skein. It's a smoky blue that I created to go with one of my club colorways. This blue--or one very close to it--was the first synthetic dye used in the world. Egyptian Blue was made of calcium copper silicate, and it was used in Egypt for thousands of years.

I created these mini skeins using some of the most frequently used colors in my variegated skeins, so they will go with lots of different colorways. Take a look at the Yarn Pairings section below for some ideas of what to pair this with.

I dyed these minis on Splendid Sock, which is soft but tough, making it perfect for the heels and toes of your favorite socks but still soft enough for a lovely shawl. The yarn is made of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon.

If you plan to make socks, I recommend pairing this with a skein of either Sock Perfection or So Silky Sock.
