MONET'S CATHEDRAL Indie-Dyed Yarn on Diamond Silk Sock

This colorway was inspired by one of my favorite paintings by Monet, The Portal of Rouen Cathedral in Morning Light. Here's a link to the painting. He spent 2 years painting the same cathedral at different times of day, and some have called it the ultimate series in impressionism.

The colors include dark blue, medium blue, soft lilac, eggplant, and a bit of chartreuse with a generous amount of speckles.

I dyed it on Diamond Silk Sock, which is an incredibly soft and strong luxury yarn base made of 100% mulberry silk. This is a great yarn base for those who are sensitive to wool. It is also tremendous for knitting and crocheting beautiful lacy shawls and for warp or weft as weaving. I would not recommend it by itself for sweaters or socks because silk does not have memory the way wool does.
