A good friend of mine mentioned that she had never gone through any crisis in her life without The Lord of the Rings. As I write this, the world is in the midst of deep hardship as we all are well aware.
I was thinking of the character of Aragorn whose singular courage and wisdom save so many in that wonderful work of fiction that parallels life in so many ways. This colorway was inspired specifically by his role as healer in The Return of the King. In the houses of healing in Gondor, an old nurse remembers the saying, "The hands of the king are the hands of a healer, and so shall the rightful king be known."
I used a really lovely shade of soft forest green along with blue, copper, brown, gold, and royal purple.
I dyed it on Squiggle Sock, which is such a fun yarn base made with superwash merino spun in a spiral around a nylon core and with little beehives or slubs every couple feet.
