When I dyed this colorway, I was originally planning on creating a sunset, but then I couldn't decide whether it looked more like a sunrise or a sunset. I asked all of you on Instagram and Facebook what you thought, and it was almost a dead heat.
In light of that, I chose both and decided to incorporate a song from one of my favorite musicals--Fiddler on the Roof--and name it after that. Introducing Sunrise, Sunset. Many thanks to Rachel who suggested the idea.
The song is sung by the parents at the wedding of their eldest daughter. They are wondering how the years have passed so quickly, and I know that is a sentiment that many of us have felt.
I used my Sparkly Merino Sock base, which is made of 92% superwash merino and 8% sparkly lurex. It's a lovely base for shawls and cowls and hats.
