When we lived in Arizona, we were able to see the fabulous sunsets over Sedona at a distance from our house, and the sunsets were brilliant and amazing. It's one of the things I miss from living there. The colors in this yarn were inspired by those Sedona sunsets. They include a berry purple, a light orange, and a soft lilac.
This is one of a few block variegated colorways I made with planned pooling or intentional pooling in mind, though it could certainly be used for other projects as well. These are dyed across the skein, which you'll need to know if you're doing planned pooling.
I dyed this yarn on Squoosh DK, which is perfect for everything from shawls to sweaters and beyond. It's made of extra-soft superwash merino.
Sedona Sunset on Squoosh DK
250 yards / 4 ounces / 4 plies
100% Extra-Fine Superwash Merino
Care: Machine or hand wash cold and air dry.
Sedona Sunset would look great with Lilac and with Sunset Orange.
I have included two photos of a hat I knit of Sedona Sunset in the ordinary manner. If you would like to make a planned pooling project, however, you can learn more about planned pooling on the plannedpooling.com website and also through the book, Artful Colors, Mindful Knits by Laura Bryant.
