This bulky 2-ply handspun yarn came from my art batt of the month club, which was inspired by a photo of a beautiful stairway winding through a luscious garden in spring.
The colors include several shades of pink and green as well as gold, gray, white, and bronze. This is really a unique colorway. The softness is to die for. I used soft merino (of course) as well as organic polwarth, baby alpaca, bamboo, mulberry silk, and even muga silk.
The last couple photos show a little sample I knit up out of what was left over on one of my bobbins after spinning and plying the yarn. There's something so wonderful about the visual softness, variety, and unpredictability of knitting with handspun yarn, isn't there?

This yarn would pair nicely with La Traviata and/or English Country Dancing.
Each skein of yarn is spun or dyed by me with loving care and contains a label with the yarn facts shown above. Your yarn is wrapped in tissue paper and shipped promptly, making a great presentation if you are giving it as a gift to your favorite fiber artist--even if that happens to be you!
Unless otherwise specified, your yarn will come as a hank, which is basically a large loop. This is the best way to store yarn because there’s no tension being placed on it. Before you begin to use it, however, you will need to wind it into a ball or cake or you will end up with a tangled mess. The best way to do this is with a swift and ball winder. However, you can use the arms of a patient friend or just put your yarn over two dining chairs back to back and wind it into a ball by hand. If you don’t have a swift and you plan to use the yarn fairly soon, I would be happy to wind your yarn into a cake for you at no extra charge. Just mention it in your note to seller when you check out.
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
