Rivendell was inspired by that beautiful peaceful respite from The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien said it was the perfect place whether you preferred reading or conversation or doing nothing at all. Doesn't that sound heavenly? Can we bring our knitting needles? :-)
The colors include forest green, chocolate brown, gold, silver, white, and royal purple.
I dyed this colorway on Stained Glass Sock, which is a soft and squishy 2-ply yarn made of 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon. The thing that makes Stained Glass Sock uniquely wonderful is that one ply is made of white wool while the other alternates between black and white, so when I dye the yarn, it looks like leaded stained glass. Each 100 gram skein has 400 yards.
