The idea for this Stained Glass colorway came from several different sources. I pretty much grew up in my parents' stained glass studio. I started making little glass-catchers when I was about 8 years old, but mostly I just hung out in their shop after school and most of the summers. Maybe that's where my love of color originated.

The yarn is inspired a little more immediately by one of the beautiful stained glass windows in our parish. The colors are deep and rich, and in between each one is about 2 inches of black to represent the leaded portion.

The colors are annunciation blue, burgundy rose, sunflowers, lilac, and eggplant as well as black in between each of those colors.

Each skein of yarn is spun or dyed by me with loving care and contains a label with the yarn facts shown above. Your yarn is wrapped in tissue paper and shipped promptly, making a great presentation if you are giving it as a gift to your favorite fiber artist--even if that happens to be you!
Unless otherwise specified, your yarn will come as a hank, which is basically a large loop. This is the best way to store yarn because there’s no tension being placed on it. Before you begin to use it, however, you will need to wind it into a ball or cake or you will end up with a tangled mess. The best way to do this is with a swift and ball winder. However, you can use the arms of a patient friend or just put your yarn over two dining chairs back to back and wind it into a ball by hand. If you don’t have a swift and you plan to use the yarn fairly soon, I would be happy to wind your yarn into a cake for you at no extra charge. Just mention it in your note to seller when you check out.
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order.  Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
Happy fiber artistry!
