The inspiration for this colorway came from the beautiful purple irises in our next-door-neighbor's yard. Almost half the skein is dyed a deep rich eggplant. The other colors are soft lilac, daffodil yellow, and spring green. I then lightly speckled over the lighter colors with purple.
I dyed it on Squiggle Sock, which is such a fun yarn base made with superwash merino spun in a spiral around a nylon core and with little beehives or slubs every couple feet.

I included two photos of a hat I knit using Purple Iris on Wonderful Worsted to give you an idea of how this can knit up. Keep in mind that that is a smooth base and doesn't have the squiggles of this one. :-)
