PURPLE IRIS Indie-Dyed Yarn on Feather Sock

The inspiration for this colorway came from the beautiful purple irises in our next-door-neighbor's yard. Almost half the skein is dyed a deep rich eggplant. The other colors are soft lavender, daffodil yellow, and spring green. I used dark purple speckles as well.

I used Feather Sock as the yarn base. Feather Sock is made of 85% extra-fine non-superwash merino wool and 15% silk. It's a 2-ply yarn with a lot of yardage. It's great for sweaters, shawls, hats, and more. Just be aware that it should be hand-washed in cold water so it doesn't felt. On the other hand, it's great for weavers and others who want to full their cloth.
