I'm opening a preorder for Beautiful Universe.
I'm offering it on your choice of Sparkly Merino Sock, Sock Perfection, or Cashmere Sock. The photos show it on Sparkly Merino Sock followed by Sock Perfection.
I will leave the preorder open through Wednesday, February 26th. After that, I'll dye up all the orders and mail them out to you. Assuming the yarn comes when I expect it to, I should have the yarn dyed, dried, and ready to send by March 4th.You can learn more about each of the yarn bases I have and how they take dye below.
I strongly recommend ordering as many as you will need for your project because my colorways do vary from one dye batch to the next.
Here are the yarn bases you can choose from and some information about each one:
Sparkly Merino Sock - This 4-ply yarn is made of 92% superwash merino and 8% lurex. There's enough lurex to really sparkle without compromising the softness of the merino. The neat thing about lurex is that the sparkle shows even more on darker colorways. This comes in extra-large 115 gram or 4-ounce skeins with a total of 409 yards, so it's on the heavier side of fingering weight. Sparkly Merino Sock tends to dye up brightly. This can be hand washed or washed on a gentle cycle in the washing machine on cold. It should be laid flat to dry.
Sock Perfection - I have finally found the perfect yarn base for actual socks! It is a light fingering weight that combines 80% extra-fine 19.5 micron superwash merino with 20% nylon. It's a good solid 4-ply yarn that comes in 100 gram skeins with 450 yards per skein. It can be machine washed on cold and air dried. It tends to take the dye rather brightly.
Cashmere Sock - Cashmere Sock is a lovely luxury yarn perfect for everything from shawls to socks. It's made of 80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, and 10% nylon. It's a 4-ply yarn with 435 yards per skein. It tends to take the dye at a medium level. I recommend washing it by hand for greatest longevity. Uses: Knit, Crochet, Warp and Weft in Weaving.
