If you need a ticket to Paris, consider this an easy way to get there. ;-)
I dyed it on a lovely top made of 70% Shetland wool and 30% Tussah silk. Like Polwarth and BFL, it's a great fiber for newer spinners. Shetland is a fairly rare breed. It has great luster and strength, and while most people would still consider it next-to-skin soft, it's a little less soft than most of my other wool. Shetland ranges from 28 to 33 microns, and I would give an educated guess that this top is in the range of 28-30. The addition of the Tussah silk gives it some added softness. You can see a closeup of the silk in the second photo.
It's great for spinning and for felting too.
If you would like a spindle to go with your hand-dyed top, you can find one in the Tools and Equipment section of my shop.

MY GIFT TO YOU
Also, as a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
Please take a moment to sign up for my weekly newsletter if you haven't already. You'll receive a one-time 15% discount when you do as well as news about Purple Lamb, a monthly designer of the month interview, and news about each sale.
Happy fiber artistry!
