I am really excited about this colorway and technique. I dyed this yarn using a technique based on Ikat weaving, which is thought to have been the first decorative weaving technique in Japan, Indonesia, and several other ancient societies.
The yarn is predominantly black with short segments of lilac. The last photo shows a knit sample of Onyx and Amethysts on Squoosh DK. As you can see, it's a black background with little "stars" of color.
Onyx and Amethysts on Sock Perfection
450 yards / 3.5 oz / 4 plies
80% superwash merino / 20% nylon
Care: Machine or hand wash cold and air dry
Onyx and Amethysts would look great with any or all of the other ikat yarns, including Black Butterfly and Onyx and Sapphires. It would also pair well with Lilac.
