This Odyssey set would make a fantastic 3-skein shawl.
Each set contains three 100 gram skeins in Odysseus, Penelope, and Telemachus.
I dyed these on Stained Glass Sock using my Splashed and Speckled method.
The set does not include a pattern, but it would work beautifully with any one of hundreds of patterns made for a 3-skein set of variegated yarn.
The inspiration for these colorways came from Homer's Odyssey.
Odysseus is considered the cleverest of men and also very strong. Penelope is faithful and clever as well. She told the wretched suitors eating them out of house and home that she would choose one as soon as she had woven her father-in-laws shroud, but each night in order to stay faithful to Odysseus (whom she still hopes is alive), she and her handmaids unweave what they wove. Their son, Telemachus, begins the tale as a hopeless youth but with the help of Athena and then Odysseus himself, he grows to be much more like his father.
I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that the colorways for each one reflect their attributes, and each one contains several of the same colors so they fade beautifully from one to the next.
The colorways of the first two pictures show Penelope on the left, Odysseus in the middle, and Telemachus on the right.
For now these colorways are only available as a set.
