Ode to the West Wind was inspired by Shelley's poem of the same name.
You can read the whole poem here, but I will include just the first and last stanzas:
As I dyed this, I was envisioning a forest covered in the first snow of the year with all the leaves flying wildly about in a strong wind. The white in the yarn represents the snow, and all of the autumn-colored speckles represent the leaves. The speckles include magenta, red, orange, yellow, and several shades of brown.
I dyed this yarn on Squoosh DK yarn base, which is a lovely, soft superwash merino.
