Nebula was inspired by an amazing photo I saw from the Hubble Space Telescope of a distant nebula known only by a number. The colors of this place where stars are born was amazing. There was bright blue and mossy green, pink and mocha brown, chartreuse and deepest blue, sea foam green, soft lilac, and dramatic deep purple. I used all those colors to make this colorway.
I dyed this using my Splashed & Speckled method, so each skein will contain the same colors but in different areas, making each skein a unique creation.
I think this would make a fantastic striped shawl with sections of Nebula interspersed with various tonal colorways. Take a look at the Yarn Pairings section below for some ideas of tonal colorways to pair this with.
Nebula on Sparkly Merino Sock
409 yards / 4 oz / 4 plies
92% superwash merino / 8% lurex
Care: Machine or hand wash cold and air dry
Nebula would look fantastic with Eggplant, Little Black Dress, or Annunciation Blue.
I included a swatch I knit in this colorway on Sparkly Merino Sock. It should give you an idea of how the colorway will work up, but keep in mind that how it looks will vary a lot depending on the pattern, the yarn base, and even the individual skein.
