DESCRIPTION
This colorway was inspired by a photo from the Hubble Telescope and astonished by all the beautiful colors in a distant nebula known only by a number.

I dyed it on Donegal DK, which is a really neat yarn base. It's made of 85% superwash merino and 15% yarn nebs in black, brown, and gray that retain their original colors when dyed, so it makes a great tweed fabric when it's knit, crocheted, or woven.

The nebs look like stars in the beautiful nebula.

In the last couple photos, you can see a hat made from Nebula that a friend of mine made.

While this is a superwash yarn and therefore could be machine washed, I think it will last longer and look better if it is hand-washed because of the nebs.

PROCESS AND PACKAGING
Each skein of yarn is spun or dyed by me with loving care and contains a label with the yarn facts shown above. Your yarn is wrapped in tissue paper and shipped promptly, making a great presentation if you are giving it as a gift to your favorite fiber artist--even if that happens to be you!

HANK OR CAKE
Unless otherwise specified, your yarn will come as a hank, which is basically a large loop. This is the best way to store yarn because there’s no tension being placed on it. Before you begin to use it, however, you will need to wind it into a ball or cake or you will end up with a tangled mess. The best way to do this is with a swift and ball winder. However, you can use the arms of a patient friend or just put your yarn over two dining chairs back to back and wind it into a ball by hand. If you don’t have a swift and you plan to use the yarn fairly soon, I would be happy to wind your yarn into a cake for you at no extra charge. Just mention it in your note to seller when you check out.

MY GIFT TO YOU
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order.  Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
