This colorway was inspired by a beautiful painting by Monet. The entire name of the painting is as follows: "Monet's Houses of Parliament, London, with the Sun Peaking through the Fog."
This was my favorite from a series of paintings he did there, and I used this painting as inspiration for my club colorways last spring. I'm bringing the colorway into the shop now.
I used Feather Sock as the yarn base. Feather Sock is made of 85% extra-fine non-superwash merino wool and 15% silk. It's a 2-ply yarn with a lot of yardage. It's great for sweaters, shawls, hats, and more. Just be aware that it should be hand-washed in cold water so it doesn't felt. On the other hand, it's great for weavers and others who want to full their cloth.
Monet's Houses of Parliament on Feather Sock
490 yards / 3.5 oz / 2 plies
85% extra-soft non-superwash merino / 15% silk
Care: Hand wash cold and air dry.
Monet's Houses of Parliament would look beautiful with Burgundy Rose, Lilac, Kristin Lavransdatter, Paris, and Monarch Butterfly.
