MONARCH BUTTERFLY Hand-Dyed Yarn on Stained Glass Fingering

Regular price $27.00

I have been seeing a lot of beautiful butterflies in our backyard lately, thanks to the previous owner who planted lots of flowers that butterflies love. I've even seen a few monarch butterflies, which are my favorite. This yarn colorway was inspired by those beautiful butterflies.

The colorway includes several shades of orange and thin stripes of black too.

I dyed this colorway on Stained Glass Fingering, which is a soft and squishy 2-ply yarn made of 100% superwash merino. The thing that makes Stained Glass Fingering uniquely wonderful is that one ply is made of white wool while the other alternates between black and white, so when I dye the yarn, it looks like leaded stained glass--or in this case the black lines in monarch butterflies' wings. Each 100 gram skein has 437 yards.
