I have been seeing a lot of beautiful butterflies in our backyard lately, thanks to the previous owner who planted lots of flowers that butterflies love. I've even seen a few monarch butterflies, which are my favorite. This yarn colorway was inspired by those beautiful butterflies.
The colorway includes several shades of orange and thin stripes of black too.I used my Sparkly Merino Sock base, which is made of 92% superwash merino and 8% sparkly lurex. It's a lovely base for shawls and cowls and hats.
Monarch Butterfly on Sparkly Merino Sock
409 yards / 4 oz / 4 plies
92% superwash merino / 8% lurex
Care: Machine or hand wash cold and air dry
Monarch Butterfly would look great with Little Black Dress. You could even add Eggplant or Phantom of the Opera to go full Halloween with this colorway.
I have included a couple photos of a hat I knit on Wonderful Worsted to give you an idea of how it can work up.
