My teenage daughter and I had so much fun dyeing silk hankies together yesterday. Each listing is for one ounce or 28 grams of hankies, and each colorway is pretty much unrepeatable.
My daughter dyed this beautiful colorway inspired by--and in anticipation of--beautiful fall colors, and we decided to call it Maple Leaves.
These silk hankies are ready for you spin or use for felting embellishments. I have a tutorial on my blog for spinning them, and you can also knit directly from them without spinning them if you prefer because silk is so incredibly strong.
The photos show these from both sides.
Here's my blog post for spinning silk hankies: https://www.purplelambfiberarts.com/how-to-spin-silk-hankies-or-mawata/
Also, here's a great tutorial on Ashland Bay for using these in nuno felting: http://blog.ashlandbay.com/post/43416612565/felting-with-silk-hankies
Each ounce includes somewhere between 30 and 40 individual hankies.
***IMPORTANT: Please note that these are not silk hankies to put in your pocket or blow your nose with. These are individual silk cocoons that are made to pull apart for spinners.***
MY GIFT TO YOU
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. If you would like one, just choose it when you check out. I'll include one per order, so if you're ordering more than one art batt, just pick the same one for all of them, and that's the one I'll include.
