Lothlorien was inspired by the forest of the elves in The Lord of the Rings. The colors feel rich and earthy and full of ancient tradition. The colors include several shades of green, chocolate brown, silver, gold, and eggplant. It is a block variegated colorway, meaning each color section with 4 to 6 inch section of each color before transitioning to the next color.
I dyed it on Diamond Silk Sock, which is an incredibly soft and strong luxury yarn base made of 100% mulberry silk. This is a great yarn base for those who are sensitive to wool. It is also tremendous for knitting and crocheting beautiful lacy shawls and for warp or weft as weaving. I would not recommend it by itself for sweaters or socks because silk does not have memory the way wool does.
