Sometimes inspiration for a new colorway strikes, and everything else just has to stop. That's what happened when the idea for Lothlorien struck me. I was thinking about the description of Lothlorien from The Fellowship of the Ring. It was a place at once ancient and new, beautiful and mournful, wild and civilized. That is what I tried to convey in this colorway.
I dyed it on a blend made of 70% BFL and 30% SeaCell. BFL is both soft and strong. It's great for socks and shawls. This particular BFL seems softer to me than the standard 25-ish micron. The other 30% is made of SeaCell, which is similar to silk in softness, but it's actually made from seaweed and eucalyptus. It's high in minerals and vitamins like vitamin E. It's also highly renewable.
If you would like a spindle to go with your hand-dyed top, you can find one in the Tools and Equipment section of my shop.

MY GIFT TO YOU
Also, as a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. It smells great, and it's a natural moth deterrent. Just let me know if you would like one in the note to seller when you check out.
