LAGO DI COMO Bulky Handspun Gradient Yarn

Regular price $33.00

Lago di Como is a gradient handspun bulky-weight yarn. The colorway was inspired by my own visit to Lake Como many years ago. It's made of 50% organic Polwarth and 50% merino. I first dyed 2 ounces of organic Polwarth as a gradient going from magenta to eggplant. After I spun that, I added 2 more ounces of eggplant merino, so a little more than half of the skein is eggplant-colored.
I think this would make a fabulous hat.

Each skein of yarn is spun or dyed by me with loving care and contains a label with the yarn facts shown above. Your yarn is wrapped in tissue paper and shipped promptly, making a great presentation if you are giving it as a gift to your favorite fiber artist--even if that happens to be you!

Unless otherwise specified, your yarn will come as a hank, which is basically a large loop. This is the best way to store yarn because there’s no tension being placed on it. Before you begin to use it, however, you will need to wind it into a ball or cake or you will end up with a tangled mess. The best way to do this is with a swift and ball winder. However, you can use the arms of a patient friend or just put your yarn over two dining chairs back to back and wind it into a ball by hand. If you don’t have a swift and you plan to use the yarn fairly soon, I would be happy to wind your yarn into a cake for you at no extra charge. Just mention it in your note to seller when you check out.
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order.  Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.

If you haven't already, please take a moment to sign up for my weekly newsletter. I include secret sales for subscibers only, a monthly interview with a fantastic designer, tutorials, experiments, and more. You'll also get a coupon for 15% off by email as soon as you sign up.
    Happy fiber artistry!
