La Bohème was inspired by the brilliant opera by Puccini. It's my favorite opera between the music and the characters and the beautiful sad plot.
I dyed this using a multi-layered technique, and the colors are so deep and rich. The colors are gold, lilac, spring green, and a bit of blue, but the burgundy rose predominates.
I dyed this yarn using my Splashed and Speckled method, which means each skein has the same colors but with different placement. It is a lace-weight yarn, but because of the texture, I recommend using slightly larger knitting needles or crochet hooks than you typically would for lace.
The yarn comes in 50 gram skeins with 328 yards per skein. It's great to use on its own or to hold double with a fingering-weight yarn to add its wonderful fuzzy softness to a project.
La Bohème on Alpaca Lace Cloud
328 yards / 1.75 oz / 2 Plies
74% Baby Suri Alpaca / 26% Silk
Care: Hand wash cold and air dry.
La Bohème would look great with the same colorway on one of my sock-weight yarn bases. One pattern possibility is my Knit and Chat Infinity Scarf pattern. You can find the pattern on my blog.
MY GIFT TO YOU
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
