Kingfisher was inspired by both the beautiful bird and the poem "As Kingfishers Catch Fire" by Hopkins. I included a photo of the bird I used for inspiration. The yarn has predominantly bright blue and orange along with black and white. There are some other wonderful shades where the colors join.
I dyed it on Sock Perfection, which is perfect for everything from socks to shawls to sweaters and beyond. It's made of extra-soft superwash merino and nylon.
Kingfisher on Sock Perfection
450 yards / 3.5 oz / 4 plies
80% extra-soft superwash merino / 20% nylon
Care: Machine or hand wash cold and air dry.
Kingfisher would look great with Caribbean Blue and Sunset Orange.
I included a photo of a swatch I knit up in this colorway using Sock Perfection. It should give you an idea of how the colorway will work up, but keep in mind that how it looks will vary a lot depending on the pattern, the yarn base, and even the individual skein.
