Javert is one of the six different colorways I created using Les Miserables as my inspiration. Javert was the detective who spent the entire novel (and musical) seeking Jean Valjean. Unfortunately, his sense of justice could not bend at all in the direction of mercy, so even when he knew that Jean Valjean lived a life doing good for everyone around him, Javert still made his one and only goal recapturing Jean Valjean.
Because of his absolutely black and white view of the world, I made his colorway just that--black and white.
I dyed each of these colorways on my Cashmere Sock yarn base, which is made of 80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, and 10% nylon. It's a wonderfully luxurious and soft yarn great for everything from shawls and sweaters to fabulous socks.

Les Misérables Collection
435 yards / 3.5 oz / 4 plies
80% superwash merino / 10% cashmere / 10% nylon
Care: Hand wash cold and air dry.
Javert would go beautifully with all the other colorways in the Les Misérables collection. I made them all to work as a fade going from Javert to Bishop Myriel to Marius to Cosette to Eponine to Jean Valjean. They are shown together in that order in the last photo.
Each skein of yarn is spun or dyed by me with loving care and contains a label with the yarn facts shown above. Your yarn is wrapped in tissue paper and shipped promptly, making a great presentation if you are giving it as a gift to your favorite fiber artist--even if that happens to be you!
Unless otherwise specified, your yarn will come as a hank, which is basically a large loop. This is the best way to store yarn because there’s no tension being placed on it. Before you begin to use it, however, you will need to wind it into a ball or cake or you will end up with a tangled mess. The best way to do this is with a swift and ball winder. However, you can use the arms of a patient friend or just put your yarn over two dining chairs back to back and wind it into a ball by hand. If you don’t have a swift and you plan to use the yarn fairly soon, I would be happy to wind your yarn into a cake for you at no extra charge. Just mention it in your note to seller when you check out.
MY GIFT TO YOU
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
