Galadriel's Gift was inspired by the gift from Galadriel to Sam to replenish The Shire in The Lord of the Rings.
This yarn base has all the delightful texture of a mohair yarn with none of the itch. It's made of baby suri alpaca and silk, and it has a wonderful halo similar to angora.
It can be used on its own or with the same colorway on one of my sock-weight bases.
It is a lace-weight yarn, but because of the texture, I recommend using slightly larger knitting needles or crochet hooks than you typically would for lace.
The yarn comes in 50 gram skeins with 328 yards per skein.
Galadriel's Gift on Alpaca Lace Cloud
328 yards / 1.75 oz / 2 Plies
74% Baby Suri Alpaca / 26% Silk
Care: Hand wash cold and air dry.
Galadriel's Gift would look wonderful held double with the same colorway on So Silky Sock or Sock Perfection.
I included a couple photos of a hat I knit using Galadriel's Gift on Wonderful Worsted to give you an idea of how the colorway works up. Alpaca Lace Cloud does tend to be a little different than most of my smooth bases though.
