FIELD OF LAVENDER Indie-Dyed Yarn on Stained Glass DK

Field of Lavender was inspired by a beautiful photograph I saw of lavender growing in France. The lavender itself takes the forefront, and back behind are tall yellow-green grasses and a country road with a red Citroen driving through it. Still further back is a forest with green trees.

All of those colors made it into the yarn, which I dyed as a splashed and speckled colorway. That means the colors are the same on each skein, but the color placement and how they blend together will be different every time.

I dyed this yarn on Stained Glass DK, which is an incredibly soft and squishy yarn base made of 100% superwash merino. The thing that makes it wonderful and unique is that about half one ply of the 2-ply yarn is black, so the yarn dyes up looking like leaded stained glass.
