Field of Lavender was inspired by a beautiful photograph I saw of lavender growing in France. The lavender itself takes the forefront, and back behind are tall yellow-green grasses and a country road with a red Citroen driving through it. Still further back is a forest with green trees.
I dyed it on top made of 50% tussah silk and 50% baby alpaca top. It's wonderfully soft, and the tussah silk adds shine and strength. The undyed alpaca is a light golden brown, which gives the dyed top a wonderfully warm color. One nice thing about this top is it may well work for someone with sensitivities to wool since there is no sheep wool in it.
While it's possible to felt alpaca with some effort, the tussah silk won't felt, so I would recommend using this top to spin but not to felt by itself.
