DURIN'S BANE on Sparkly Merino Sock

Regular price $28.00

Durin's Bane is a dramatic colorway inspired by the Balrog in Moria from The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien describes the Balrog as a creature of shadow and fire, and I have tried to represent that.

The colors are a combination of rich red for the fire and dark purple for the shadows and several shades where the two intersect.

I dyed these on my Sparkly Merino Sock base, which is made of 92% superwash merino and 8% sparkly lurex. It's a lovely base for shawls and cowls and hats.

The yarn is priced per skein.

Durin's Bane would go beautifully with Lilac and The Winedark Sea as shown in the last photo.

As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order.  Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
