Jean Valjean is one of the six different colorways I created using Les Miserables as my inspiration.
Jean Valjean is the hero of Les Misérables. At the beginning, this extraordinarily strong man is in prison for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his sister and her children. After being released on parole, he is unable to find work because of having been in prison. After the theft that became a gift from Bishop Myriel, he decides to do good with his life. After rescuing Fantine from the streets and being with her while she dies, he saves her daughter, and the two live happily for years as father and daughter; however, all the while he is being sought by Javert.
I could go on and on, but I'll stop there. I dyed Jean Valjean's colorway in red for passion, purple for his self-sacrificing nature, gold for his goodness of heart, blue for loyalty, white for virtue, and black for the darkness of his life.
I dyed each of these colorways on my Cashmere Sock yarn base, which is made of 80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, and 10% nylon. It's a wonderfully luxurious and soft yarn great for everything from shawls and sweaters to fabulous socks.

Jean Valjean would go beautifully with all the other colorways in the Les Misérables collection. I made them all to work as a fade going from Javert to Bishop Myriel to Marius to Cosette to Eponine to Jean Valjean. They are shown together in that order in the last photo.
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
