"Call me Ishmael. Some years ago--never mind how long precisely--having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world."
--Herman Melville, Moby-Dick
So begins what may well be the greatest American novel.
Call Me Ishmael is a somewhat more cheerful take on the narrator of Moby-Dick compared with November in My Soul. It contains white, several shades of blue, teal, and bronze. I included some color from each of the other characters as Ishmael describes them from his own experience.I dyed these on my Sparkly Merino Fingering-Weight yarn base, which is made of 92% merino wool and 8% sparkly lurex.
Call Me Ishmael on Sparkly Merino Sock
409 yards / 4 oz / 4 plies
92% superwash merino / 8% lurex
Care: Machine or hand wash cold and air dry
Call Me Ishmael would look wonderful with Annunciation Blue, Contentment, and Turquoise.
I have included photos of a hat I knit in this colorway on Wonderful Worsted. It should give you an idea of how the colorway will work up, but keep in mind that how it looks will vary a lot depending on the pattern you use and the yarn base as well.
