Beowulf was inspired by the epic poem, which is the oldest surviving poem in English. It's a dark, dramatic colorway that matches the heroic tale and the fight between good and evil. The colors include silver with hints of, purple, green, dark red, and blue. On this yarn base, the overall colorway is more purple.
I dyed this yarn using my Splashed and Speckled method, which means each skein has the same colors but with different placement. The colors include several shades of blue and purple as well as berry, chartreuse, and black.
I dyed it on Diamond Silk Sock, which is an incredibly soft and strong luxury yarn base made of 100% mulberry silk. This is a great yarn base for those who are sensitive to wool. It is also tremendous for knitting and crocheting beautiful lacy shawls and for warp or weft as weaving. I would not recommend it by itself for sweaters or socks because silk does not have memory the way wool does.
