I had the idea for this colorway and dyed it up but couldn't come up with a name, so I asked the wonderful people in the Purple Lamb Facebook page. The majority mentioned galaxies and nebulae, so I started going through Hubble Space Telescope photos, and they are amazing, but no particular space phenomena looked exactly right. Then I found the image included here, and that in combination with the Hubble photos inspired me to think just how astonishingly beautiful our universe is. Isn't it breathtaking? It could be dull, flat, and colorless, but instead it is a masterpiece!
I dyed this yarn using my Splashed and Speckled method, which means each skein has the same colors but with different placement. The colors include several shades of blue and purple as well as berry, chartreuse, and black.
I dyed it on my Suri Lace Cloud yarn base, which has all the delightful texture of fuzzy mohair yarn with none of the itch. It's made of baby suri alpaca and silk, and it has a wonderful halo.
It can be used on its own or held double with another yarn.
