ARIZONA SUNRISE Splashed and Speckled on So Silky Sock

Regular price $32.00

Arizona may be known for its beautiful sunsets, but our house faces east, so I get to watch a beautiful, brilliant sunrise most mornings. I wish I could share the sunrise, but at least I can share the yarn! That sunrise was the inspiration for this lovely colorway, which I dyed on my new So Silky Sock Base made of 50% superwash merino and 50% silk. This is so lusciously soft!

This time I dyed the yarn using my Splashed and Speckled method. I also have this yarn as a more traditional variegated yarn on the same yarn base and using the same colors. They would go beautifully together.

The colors are a coral red, orange, peach, and yellow, and all of them are generously speckled with magenta and coral red. This would make a beautiful shawl or cowl or hat and mitten set.

The yarn is priced per skein.

Each skein of yarn is spun or dyed by me with loving care and contains a label with the yarn facts shown above. Your yarn is wrapped in tissue paper and shipped promptly, making a great presentation if you are giving it as a gift to your favorite fiber artist--even if that happens to be you!

Unless otherwise specified, your yarn will come as a hank, which is basically a large loop. This is the best way to store yarn because there’s no tension being placed on it. Before you begin to use it, however, you will need to wind it into a ball or cake or you will end up with a tangled mess. The best way to do this is with a swift and ball winder. However, you can use the arms of a patient friend or just put your yarn over two dining chairs back to back and wind it into a ball by hand. If you don’t have a swift and you plan to use the yarn fairly soon, I would be happy to wind your yarn into a cake for you at no extra charge. Just mention it in your note to seller when you check out.

As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order.  Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.

Happy fiber artistry!
