This yarn was inspired by Sara Crewe, the main character in the wonderful children's classic, A Little Princess. In spite of her own deep sorrow and hardship, she manages to bring joy to those around her. This colorway is dedicated to all who have managed to do the same in spite of--or perhaps in light of--their own sorrow. The yarn contains several shades of moody blues and mournful violets as well as some more cheerful burgundy rose.
I dyed it on Sock Perfection, which is perfect for everything from socks to shawls to sweaters and beyond. It's made of extra-soft superwash merino and nylon.
A Little Princess on Sock Perfection
450 yards / 3.5 oz / 4 plies
80% extra-soft superwash merino / 20% nylon
Care: Machine or hand wash cold and air dry.
A Little Princess would look wonderful with Annunciation Blue, Lilac, or Burgundy Rose.
I have included a photo of a swatch I knit in this colorway. It should give you an idea of how the colorway will work up, but keep in mind that how it looks will vary a lot depending on the pattern you use and the yarn base as well.
MY GIFT TO YOU
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
