NEBULA Handspun Super-Bulky Art Yarn Inspired by Hubble Telescope Photos

Regular price $35.00

Quantity Available: 1

This yarn colorway was inspired by an amazing photograph of a distance nebula taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. When I was making the art batts, I was astonished by all the different colors that were in the nebula including deep blue, lighter blue, brown, green, eggplant, and even chartreuse and pink.

Much as I love the art batts, I'm even more excited about the yarn.

I spun this thick and thin and then plied it to itself, making beehives where I could to really emphasize the thick and thin. This yarn would be great as a cowl or as the weft in a weaving project with maybe a soft pink silk warp.

PROCESS AND PACKAGING
Each skein of yarn is spun or dyed by me with loving care and contains a label with the yarn facts shown above. Your yarn is wrapped in tissue paper and shipped promptly, making a great presentation if you are giving it as a gift to your favorite fiber artist--even if that happens to be you!

HANK OR CAKE
Unless otherwise specified, your yarn will come as a hank, which is basically a large loop. This is the best way to store yarn because there’s no tension being placed on it. Before you begin to use it, however, you will need to wind it into a ball or cake or you will end up with a tangled mess. The best way to do this is with a swift and ball winder. However, you can use the arms of a patient friend or just put your yarn over two dining chairs back to back and wind it into a ball by hand. If you don’t have a swift and you plan to use the yarn fairly soon, I would be happy to wind your yarn into a cake for you at no extra charge. Just mention it in your note to seller when you check out.

MY GIFT TO YOU
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order.  Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
