I dyed this variegated and speckled yarn using a special technique known as glazing, which involves adding multiple layers of dye so the yarn practically glows. The colors are gold, rose, lavender, spring green, and a bit of magenta and dark blue--all the colors of the jewels in Smaug's lair in The Lonely Mountain from The Hobbit.
All of this is on my Sparkly Merino Fingering-Weight yarn base, which is made of 92% merino wool and 8% sparkly lurex.

MY GIFT TO YOU
As a token of my appreciation, I would be happy to include your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary from my organic garden or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these smell wonderful and are natural moth deterrents. Just let me know if you would like one and which one you would prefer in the note to seller when you check out.
Please consider signing up for my weekly newsletter. You'll find secret sales for subscribers only, interviews with pattern designers, tutorials, and announcement for new product lines. You'll also receive a one-time coupon code worth 15% off your purchase by email as soon as you sign up.
Happy fiber artistry!
