“Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off--then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can.”
--Herman Melville, Moby-Dick
November in My Soul was inspired by that greatest of American novels, Moby-Dick. I spent months mulling around what this colorway should look like before I actually made it, but now that I actually made it I'm rather please.
The colors are light gray-blue, medium blue, forest green, lilac, chartreuse, white and a very dark mauve along with fairly heavy magenta speckles. I dyed it using my Splashed & Speckled method, so it isn't likely to pool.
I dyed these on my Sparkly Merino Fingering-Weight yarn base, which is made of 92% merino wool and 8% sparkly lurex.
