When Russia invaded Ukraine, I had plans to dye up one of my regular spring colorways, but I could not stop thinking about the people of Ukraine and the horror that they were and still are experiencing right now.
I decided to stop everything and dye up a new colorway inspired by the beautiful flower that is their national symbol, the sunflower.
I dyed this on my So Silky Sock Base made of 50% superwash merino and 50% silk. This is so lusciously soft!
Sunflower on So Silky Sock
Semi-Solid Colorway with Speckles
437 yards / 3.5 oz / 4 plies
50% superwash merino / 50% mulberry silk
Care: Hand wash cold and air dry.
Sunflower would look great with A Girl with a Pearl Earring, Afremov's Farewell to Anger, Purple Iris, and of course Freedom Blue for a Ukrainian Flag project.
