SUNFLOWER Hand-Dyed Yarn on Sparkly Merino Sock in Solidarity with Ukraine

Regular price $28.00

Quantity Available: 0

When Russia invaded Ukraine, I had plans to dye up one of my regular spring colorways, but I could not stop thinking about the people of Ukraine and the horror that they were and still are experiencing right now.

I decided to stop everything and dye up a new colorway inspired by the beautiful flower that is their national symbol, the sunflower.

I used my Sparkly Merino Sock base, which is made of 92% superwash merino and 8% sparkly lurex. It's a lovely base for shawls and cowls and hats.

Sunflower would look great with Marianne, Lizzie, or Anne Elliot. It would also look great with Monarch Butterfy. If you are planning to make a Ukrainian flag project, take a look at my new Freedom Blue to go with Sunflower.

YARN SWATCH
I included two photos of a hat I knit using this colorway on Wonderful Worsted to give you an idea of how it will work up.
