THE WINEDARK SEA Indie-Dyed Yarn on So Silky Sock

This yarn was inspired by a really intriguing phrase from Homer's Odyssey. Apparently the ancient Greeks had no name or concept for the color blue. While pondering the idea for this colorway, a friend mentioned that on a recent trip to Greece, she noticed burgundy hues in the sea while aboard a sailboat.

The colorway is a very dark red with purple tones as well.

I dyed this yarn on So Silky Sock, which is wonderfully soft and strong. It's my go-to yarn base for warp when I'm weaving.
